The Prester John of the Indies
In the 1500s, the rumor of Prester John had shifted to Ethiopia - after all, anything 'east' of the Nile was considered 'the Indies'. So Portugal sent a deputation down to the Christian communities in Ethiopia. It didn't go well! This is a two-volume set of the account they brought back (of those who survived).
