Hour of the Witch

Each chapter starts with a quote /excerpt from a courtroom trial; these generally felt heavy handed... until about 2/3 of the way through they started working for me. Would she get away with it? Whose trial are we reading about here, anyway?

Historical fiction choice from my book club; a trouble-making woman in puritan Boston, right when the witch-hunting panic is spreading across the area. I haven't read much from New England in this time perio, but the language feels tough here - lots of 21st century thoughts with a thick paste of 'thou' and 'hath' applied. Clunky.
