The Arthur stuff is nicely exoticised - Arthurs becomes Artos, the lady of the lake is Nimue, who is a real woman who can do actual magic, etc. But it's still very earthy and violent.

A novella that reads like an early working of Hild. Young woman, semi-orphaned, raised by wackadoo mother, mystical nature connection, preternaturally good at physical combat. Based in the same part of England! Except this time, she's integrated into the Matter of Britain, the arthurian legends. Interesting really!
