The Last Ringbearer
It's a sequel to the Lord of the Rings written from Mordor's perspective. It is dumb.
Assuming that LOTR is a sanitized 'history written by winners', this book imagines that Mordor was not an aggressor, Orcs aren't monsters but actually reasonable guys who just dig technology and science, Gandalf is a warmongering jerkface, and Aragorn is an a-hole. It's a great premise, but wasted on a boring novel about political intrigue.
