On the Calculation of Volume (Book II)
Continuing the story of our protagonist, who is stuck in a time loop on November eighteenth. This is still the same tone, a pensive and meditative literary fiction with moments of humor. And for me, still some really unsettling horror as well. But in book 2 (there are more to come!), our protagonist abandons trying to live her way out of the loop, and starts traveling. She seeks some rhythm of the year by throwing herself a Christmas party. Then traveling north to seek cold and snow. Then south for springtime! Then she gets very interested in the Roman Empire, which feels very much out of left field, but is the kind of 'Bill Murray learns how to play the piano' kind of content you do sometimes get in this story type.
