Nocturnes

Maybe I was just reading this at the wrong time, but Nocturnes just fell flat for me. I've really enjoyed two of Ishiguro's other books - Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go - but these five short stories just felt hollow. His narrative pacing and character voices were a bit unconvincing, But perhaps it was just the overall tone - the stories didn't have that sweet melancholy that I expect from Ishiguro, but instead just felt a touch depressing.
