Incandescence

Should be Incandescence: Barely a Novel. This is weird hard sci-fi, wherein half of the plot depends on you understanding general relativity. And that's the interesting part of that half!

The other half covers the explorations of a post-singularity explorer. Reading between the lines to suss out what the post-human universe looks like is a particularly nerdy pleasure, which might not be fun for many. Like most hard scifi, the author is bad at characterization and voice, but it's a forgiveable lapse given the genre.
