Use of Weapons

I've been wanting to read one of Banks' 'Culture' novels ever since I read an article talking about the whole concept of the Culture; a galaxy-spanning techno-utopia that clandestinely guides other planets and civilizations to their way of life. It's also famous for its clever AIs and ships with delightful names, including two that SpaceX uses.

But the book. Fine. It was fine, surely better than the Stanislaw Lem book I read recently, but still: eh. Fine.
