Gnomon

This is a book that is obviously good, but so full of its own pride-of-construction that I found it actually.... impossible to get through. I gave up halfway. But man, I loved the first few bits! Then it starts nesting and folding in on itself, and I realized I was hating the frame story that was consuming everything else.
