To Say Nothing of the Dog
A follow up? Sequel? to Doomsday Book, the surprising pandemic-related time-travel book I read earlier this year. This time it's a very different tone, a light-hearted little comedy of errors in victorian Oxfordshire, something Jeeves-and-Wooster like, although I have never actually read those. It's got the usual puzzle-box twistiness of a time-travel story, but in this case it's the time continuum itself that's doing all the work, and our bumbling protagonists are just trying to not screw things up. A real beach read as scifi goes!
