Beneath the Sugar Sky

After 1 and 2 in this series being such different books, I really didn’t know what to expect. And this is different again; it starts out back at the school, but then quickly becomes a multiverse-hopping quest story, with refreshingly low stakes (one person might die, not like, multiverse collapse). I’d like a little less explanation of how the magic worlds are part of a coherent system and a bit more mystery, but this was… fine? Good for my road trip? I enjoyed the new characters, I did not find the Candyland world to be very interesting.
