Benito Cereno
Melville's novella with a surprise-but-not-really twist ending. Maybe I was just too sleepy when I read this, but I saw the big reveal coming a mile away, and felt like all the energy put into the 'mysterious circumstances' was wasted. But I don't love Melville for his adventure writing, I guess! I love him for other reasons.
